As you know, the Producers' Forum has been faced with severe funding cuts this year and have taken a number of actions to ensure our continued existence.  We believe, that come the autumn, we will be in a strong position, given the new Creative England agency coming into being and our own steps to be more self sufficient.

However, one of the real casualties of this transition has been the recent loss of the position of our Forum Manager.  We had to reduce Rebecca Watkin's hours and as she needed full time work, she began to look for other employment and we are delighted to announce she has been successful in obtaining a position with the British Film Institute.  Rebecca leaves us very reluctantly and, in fact, offered to carry on working for The Producers' Forum part time on top of her full working week with the BFI.  The Board discussed this and decided that we do not want to lose all the goodwill and experience Rebecca has built up and will keep her on a freelance basis a few hours each month to help grow our strategic partnerships, but that does leave a big gap in the help needed in the Midlands.

A short term solution is to hire a freelancer for the next 3 months - someone who can work on their own (though there will be a good handover) and get into the role very quickly.  This will give us the time we need to confirm funding before we make a long term commitment again to a paid employee.

Filling this new role is urgent.  If you are interested, please can email your CV with a short covering note BY THURSDAY, 30 June to the Chair of our Board, Carole Manship (carole@bridgemarketing.co.uk) as to why you would like this position and how we can know  that you will be successful in it.  If interviews are necessary, they will be conducted on 4 July and the successful candidate must be prepared to start that week or at the latest, the week of 11 July.

    FILM-MAKER SOUGHT

Theatre Royal Bath is seeking a film-maker to contribute to Engage, their programme of work for community creative learning with professional artists.

We are looking for a film-maker to co-create a process with other members of the Engage team whereby three members of the local community will keep video diaries or respond to given stimuli during the month of April, all on the subject of ageing and generational change. This will then be edited to create a short film (10 – 15mins) for screening by the 21st June 2011.

The premise is adapted from Seven Up, the popular TV documentary series that revisits people’s lives every seven years. We are hoping to mirror this process with a yearly visit to the three contributors between 2011 and 2013, though this appointment is initially for 2011 only.

This project has the working title of Transitions and is part of a longer two-year series of performance projects at Theatre Royal Bath called The Living Project, exploring issues surrounding intergenerational relationships and the pressures of an ageing population.

There is a budget available for this work. We would like to receive expressions of interest alongside an estimated fee in response to the detailed brief, which is available by contacting:

Jill Bennett, Engage Programme Co-ordinator, Theatre Royal Bath, Sawclose, Bath BE1 1ET

    jill.bennett@theatreroyal.org.uk

    01225 823452

Expressions of interest should be submitted by email to Jill Bennett by end of day on Monday 28 March 2011.
